Chicago in review

I'm back from the dead! After a far-too-short trip to Chicago for a journalism conference, I'm ready to start blogging regularly again. I should be back with an outfit post tomorrow, but until then, here some snapshots from my trip.

Buildings. So many buildings.

Eating at Portillo's like a good Midwesterner.

Being an official college journalist and learning stuff.

A few friends and I stumbled onto this adorable and delicious crepe stand for lunch one day.

I had to fit in some pizza. And a terrible picture of a menu.

I spent a lot of time shopping and way too much money. Jenn and I had fun on our, um, second trip to H&M.

That time I convinced T.J. to pose for pictures with me in the middle of the sidewalk. Also, I had a LOT of Starbucks.

I can't really prove it from these photos, but I actually had the amazing opportunity to meet up with Marlen from Messages on a Napkin and Katie from Beautifully Pure. Marlen works really close to where I was staying and met me at the hotel so we could take the train to Lincoln Park. There, we got coffee and chocolate chip scones at the cutest coffee shop and were later met by Katie. We also visited an Urban Outfitters outlet nearby where I scored a couple of dresses for a total of $13. It was amazing to meet them both in person and to talk about blogging with people who actually understand what I have to say about it. I only wish that I hadn't locked my key and phone in my room on accident the next day so I could have hung out with Marlen one more time. I suck.

Lastly, make sure to catch me on Flock Together today!
