Another day, another Peter Pan collar. This was part of my Modcloth Cabin Fever sale purchase last month and it's my favorite item of the bunch. It's the only item I paid more than $10 for (though not by much) and it was absolutely worth it. Sure, the shape is slightly unflattering if you catch it at the wrong angle, but I'm willing to see past that. Fun fact: the reviews for this dress all made a point to say it had a small head hole. I have no problem with it, so I've come to the conclusion that there are multiple Modcloth customers with giant heads. It's the only explanation.
In exciting news of the week, I'll be going to Chicago for another journalism conference this Thursday-Saturday. I won't leave you hanging though, I have a couple of great guest posts lined up for you. I swear these things only happen two times a year, but I get so excited every time they do. I get to attend cool sessions with talented journalists, get the chance to win some awards this time (fingers crossed!), and I get a good amount of free time in the city. Did I mention that the entire trip is paid for by the school, including an envelope full of cash for food? I'll definitely be hitting up the Urban Outfitters outlet I visited with Marlen and Katie last time I was there, you can bet I won't let anymore $3 dresses pass me by. I'm not sure if I'll have time for any meetups this trip, but if there any other Chicago bloggers around, let me know!
And speaking of giveaways, Leah of We Live Upstairs is giving away $25 to Anthropologie! I'm conflicted because I want to tell you all to visit her fantastic blog, but I also really want to win it myself. So if you could all just visit and follow her, but let me win, I'd appreciate it. (All jokes aside, folks, enter it! It's Anthro; why wouldn't you?)
Dress: Modcloth
Boots: Target
Ring: H&M
Belt: Thrifted
Yay, thanks Elana! I'm so glad you entered!
ReplyDeleteAnd you look positively darling in this dress! Love the edge of the boots too! I love a good mix of girly and tough.
Multiple Modcloth customers with giant heads...oh Elana, you know how to make me laugh! xD Hahaha, that MUST be the obvious conclusion here, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I always love seeing how you wear your peter pan collars - they just suit your style so perfectly. This dress is seriously adorable too. I've got to keep a better eye out for these Modcloth sales!

Bahaha - giant heads! It reminds me of this Seinfeld episode with Elaine and how she was described as the lady with the big head.
ReplyDeleteI could possibly never have enough peter pan collars. Naturally I ADORE this dress! Have fun in Chicago Elana!

This dress is amazinggggg! It may have trumped all of your other dresses I have also loved to win my favorite dress of yours award. And I love your giant-headed Modcloth reviewers conclusion, that MUST be the case!
ReplyDeletethe dress is really really cute. I feel sad now that I didn't buy anything during the cabin fever sale because I got scared away by reading the reviews on all the itmes I sort of liked. Next time around I will be more courageous and just get the stuff and see for myself.
ReplyDeleteYour posts always make me laugh :). I think this dress is so pretty on you and I think you rock the peter pan collar! Good luck in Chicago! Take lots of pictures and I hope you come back with some amazing dresses and a few awards :)

What a gorgeous dress! And your conference sounds like so much fun! I can't wait to see what kind of scores you get at Urban Outfitters! <3
ReplyDeleteYour comments about the reviews cracked me up. You look great as always; have fun and travel safe!
ReplyDeleteGirl you just make me smile every time I come to your blog lately! This dress is darling on you and what a fantastic color for you. Did I tell you that Modcloth messed up my order and so I didn't end up getting my dress from the cabin fever sale? Siiiigh, so I am still Modcloth-less in my closet. Oh well. ALSO I got your blue frock in the mail yesterday and I pretty much died over how cute it is. Can't wait to wear it.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at your conference darling!
what a fabulous dress!!! You couldn't be any cuter!

There is NOTHING better than the Modcloth cabin fever sales. I got 3 things for under $30! I love this dress! Wish I'd seen this one.
ReplyDeleteMan, you found some awesome items through that modcloth sale! Any dress with a peter pan collar is automatically adorable, those collars are just too much fun. I really, really like this mixture of colors, the soft beige with the teal is such a pretty color combination and I love how you wore those boots with this pretty dress!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful dress, and I see what you mean about the shape; a fuller skirt would be better, but it's still very pretty. I particularly like the colours :)

Such a pretty dress - I love the beige collar and sleeve detail. Thanks so much for your really sweet comment on my blog also. I'm delighted to meet another Felice Brothers fan...we seem to be a small but devoted community! Looking at your about page was basically like reading a list of all my interests too...Breaking Bad, Mad Men, the Coen Brothers...love all of them! And this is why I love blogging...so great to meet someone with such similar interests! I'm delighted to have found your lovely blog and can't wait to follow more of your adventures through it!
