Two-Faced

Photos, Elyse Katz

If I had a dollar for every time I wear a different combination of a sleeveless button down and high-waisted skirt, I would be a very rich girl.

It's strange how an article of clothing can be so new to the pages of this blog, yet so familiar to me. I'm a little surprised that this is the first time this skirt is making an appearance here considering how much I wear it. I bought it off of Etsy over a year ago for about $8 and it's just the most comfortable thing. I'm sure I'm wearing it in at least half of my pictures on Facebook. To say it gets a lot of love from me would be an understatement.

This shirt is definitely one of my favorite purchases of the summer. Like I said, I can't get enough of sleeveless button downs, so it's always a nice find to come across one that just a little unique. I always get lucky finding really amazing H&M items at Buffalo Exchange because they get marked down for incredible prices. I don't remember the exact price, but this was definitely under $10. Score.

With three weeks of being home left to go, I'm starting to think of all the California things I need to do before I leave. Most of the things on my list are food-related, like visiting food trucks with my friend, Adam, tomorrow, but there are a few other things as well. I'm supposed to go to a showing of The Room with my friend Whitney in L.A. this weekend, which is my all-time favorite bad movie and I can't wait. I'm a sucker for "movies so bad they're good," so if anyone knows any good ones, please feel free to send them my way.

  4. I can see why this is a go-to look for you, it's adorable as are you in it! I love the print of the skirt and the two colors of the top. It's funny how outfits can be your favorites and not make your blog. I've been living in a printed short most weekends and have yet to put them on my blog, so odd!

  6. High-waisted skirts are definitely one of my loves in life. :) As are oxfords (yours are super cute!) but I have yet to actually make the commitment and buy a pair. Perhaps this fall...

P.S. Thank you SO much for your ridiculously sweet comment on my blog! Seriously the nicest one yet!

  7. Don't you just love Etsy? I always find the cutest vintage on there. :) That skirt is seriously cute and I love the black and white combo of the top. Is it black, is it white? It's both!! Love it! <3

  10. Hi Elana,

Thanks for stopping by and your comment-much appreciated. I love it when new readers comment as it leads me to their blog and here I am. I like your style and from the look of these photos alone, I can tell you are fun and bubbly person. I also see you have the same problem as me-spending too much money on clothes and watching endless movies( I love escaping to the world of movies)

  12. i have pieces like that that i wear a lot yet i have never managed to put on the blog (a key print skirt i own comes to mind. i don't know why exactly it doesn't make it, but i wear it often) this skirt you have is really adorable - i can see why you love it. it's a good color and looks good on you! and i keep hearing about buffalo exchange, and i never had before. i think there might be one in philly that maybe i should venture to (but then again, is it worth the tolls i have to pay?)

anyhow - i hated when i knew i was leaving ohio and had to pick the things i wanted to do before i left. i felt like i needed to do SO much. good luck getting all the things in you want to.
