Black on Black

It's not difficult to find me in neutrals (after all, we all know how much I love a good white dress), but I realized the other day that I don't wear too much black. I wear it here and there, of course, but it's usually to accent some sort of color. This top is not only one of my best thrifted finds at $1, but it's also one of my favorite pieces that I own. I had never thought to pair it with a black skirt until yesterday, though, and I love the result. I intend to try my luck with more monochromatic looks now that I know how great they can be. Monochomatic or not, though, a good polka dot never hurts.

I'm not sure I even need to mention these oxfords and all their glory. I picked them up on major clearance and with a coupon from Urban's website a few weeks ago, but have yet to find the right outfit to pair them with. I'm sure they'll be seeing plenty of more blog time as time goes on, epecially with tights in the fall. I don't know what it is about Urban's shoes, but I love them. I think I own more shoes from that store (all bought on sale) than any other store. Can you blame me?

In other news, I'm featured on Modcloth's homepage and in their most email to promote the Style Gallery! I've never kept my obsession with a Modcloth a secret so I don't think it comes as a surprise that I'm ecstatic. Talk about a great start to my birthday week. Side note: my 21st birthday is tomorrow and I'm pumped. A little worried, but pumped none the less.

Top, belt, ring: Thifted
Skirt: Romwe
Oxfords: Urban Outfitters

  6. These shoes!!! They're amazing and the perfect pop with the all black look. Love this dress, the polka dots and chiffon material are gorgeous.
I used to wear all black all the time, so I try to steer clear of all black looks to ensure no one in my circle becomes concerned that I'm relapsing back into my goth/punk rock days

  15. Yes to polka dots! I'm the same way with black. I wear it a lot as an accent, but usually not as a whole outfit, unless it's a black dress. I always feel like I'm goth or something, though anyone who looks at me and thinks goth is probably crazy since I'm far from it haha! Cute look!

  18. I don't know how to tell you this, but there's a cat on your wall. A cat that's wearing a triangle-shaped dress. I'm kind of uncomfortable.
