Welcome to Friday's outfit, which I wore to visit my aunt and uncle. My brother and I always make a trip to their house whenever he's in town and we stop at this awesome outdoor mall right by their place on the way. Since it's such a cool place, I had Lucas help me take some outfit photos while we were there. It was a bright day and most of the spots didn't work out very well, but I loved this fountain. I'm finally starting to become more comfortable taking pictures in public places, which I'm pretty proud of.
This cropped crochet top from Threadsence is fairly new and it's perfect for throwing on over dresses for summer. I bought on clearance and they were out of my size, so I had to size up and it's definitely bigger than I would like. It's still a fun piece though and one that I'm sure will get plenty of wear over the next few months. If it seems like you've never actually seen this floral dress on its own, it's because I always insist on layering it. You see, this dress has become my go-to, comfortable piece for flights and lazy days. It's difficult not to have that feeling of being gross or on a plane when I wear it now, so I turn to layers to make it wearable for days when I actually feel like trying. This was one of those days.
I wish I could say I had exciting Fourth of July plans, but I'm just working in the morning. It's never really been an exciting holiday for me. I'm all for burgers and hot dogs, but big crowds and loud noises just aren't my thing. Hopefully all of you have more exciting plans in store though!

Super pretty, Elana! I've got a lacy top that I find difficult to not wear over every summer dress, too.

ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with you, fourth of July isn't that exciting. My city can barely afford fireworks, so that's quite fun. Anywayzzz hope you have a fun day of running around designer clothes :)

You look so cute! I love the peep toed shoes. Like you, I'll be working tomorrow as well. Actually, I'm on call so I can get an emergency at any moment. Fingers crossed that I end up staying home! I hope you have a great weekend though, work or no work!

Ha, reading about your 4th of July plans sounds like mine. Only I'm working in the afternoon and closing, so who knows if I'll even get to see fireworks. Sigh. I wish I had more exciting plans, but bleh :P
ReplyDeleteI love that crochet top girl! Its perfect for summer and layering over dresses. I actually prefer getting tops a size larger so I can knot them and half tuck them in bottoms during summer.

Your thrifted bag is so pretty. I love that brown tone as well. Pairs well with your outfit
ReplyDeleteI love this dress, it's a great piece and layers really perfectly!! Wearing cute stuff like that on a flight is waaay more comfortable and fun than something shitty like sweatpants. The top looks perfect with this dress!

Oh, Elana. You're my favorite and I love you. I love this shirt. And the dress. And I love them together. This fountain is pretty cool and I'm so glad you're getting used to taking pictures in public! Yay! And I'm so with you - fourth of july is way too noisy/crowded for my taste!
ReplyDeleteI love light, fun tops like that for summer layering! It looks perfect layered over this dress, what a great combination! Beautiful fountain too, ooh lala!

A top like this is definitely perfect for throwing on top of dresses to remix them when it's super hot outside. I just got a blue cropped lace top and I'm thinking of what dresses to throw it over. I love these pictures with the fountain!
ReplyDeleteThe shirt looks like it is supposed to be an oversized fit though and looks totally cute on you :) Lace overtops are so fun!
ReplyDeleteAlso fun- you looking like you are in Italy with that fountain. Don't you love finding cool photo locations in unlikely spots?
We didn't do much on the 4th either (having flown back on the 3rd, we were pretty out of it).
You look lovely. Beautiful pics. Just found your blog :) New follower!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I love lacy tops! :)
