Prep

Now, here's a preppy outfit for you.

I'm in love with this new top I received from Persunmall, who has been wonderful to work with. I chose one dress from the site (which I'll be showing off in a couple of days), but I also wanted to choose a top that I knew I would get plenty of wear out of. With so many dresses in my closet, I often find myself limited for separates, and I'm extremely happy to have this top to turn to now. It's a good basic, but the floral detail gives it the feminine touch that I so love. Plus, it's far better than quality than I would have expected from an item so affordable. We can just all agree to ignore the obvious bra straps showing, right?

I found this skirt at a thrift store for $1 while with my friend Liz last week, and so wonderfully preppy that I almost can't stand it. Any day that I can feel like I stepped out of "Clueless" is a good day.

My new friend Katie helped take these pictures for me, and I couldn't be more excited about meeting her. Katie is a fellow fashion student who recently transferred to my school, and she has the most adorable blog. It's pretty sad, but it's actually rare to find another fashion student who not only blogs, but actually has a great sense of style. The amount of T-shirts and sweat pants that grace my classes gets a little tiring after a while. I highly suggest checking out Katie's blog, The Style Duckling, since we'll probably be helping each other out with photos often this semester. Plus, her blog is really just that great and I'm slightly (creepily) obsessed with her. This is how I make friends, guys.

Another item of note? This monogram bracelet from Onecklace. While it's slightly too big for my wrist, I love the classic design. I've actually never owned anything monogramed before (if you look closely, it says "EMK"), so it's nice to have such a timeless piece now. Now, if only my wrists weren't so tiny.

Skirt: Thrifted
Bracelet: c/o Onecklace
Shoes: Urban Outfitters

  2. That's such a cute top! And I'm sort of shocked that more fashion students aren't blogging and dressing well for class...not at all what I would have expected!

  3. Love the thrifted style! I feel like most college students kinda get a bit lazy on the clothing front, I know I did when I was in school. Great that you found some local style to motivate you. Can't wait to check out her blog. :)

  4. Just discovered your blog and I must say, your style is fabulous! Love this outfit, and the shoes are perfect on so many levels. I hated when kids at my school would only dress in sweats (although I must admit, I did commit this sin a couple of times lol). Glad you're making a statement! Happy Weekend to ya!

    Cheers!

  8. I love this preppy look! I can't remember the last time I thrifted something so cheap, you are a lucky lady. I would never expect fashion classes to be full of people wearing the normal college uniform of sweats & tees, I never understood why people found it so hard to put clothes on. I sound like my grandmother now ;)
