If you can't tell by now, I've accidentally given myself a fall uniform lately. This consists of: circle scarf + dress + tights + booties + cardigan, and repeat. I can't say this is my most exciting outfit, but it's a good example of what I've been wearing lately. I scored this dress for less than $10 during Urban's 50% sale items promotion last month, and I like that while it's a typical silhouette for me, the print is completely different than anything I own. It's also extremely comfortable, so I'm looking forward to getting plenty of wear out of it.
These photos were taken the week before last in the alley next to my favorite coffee shop in town (which is also where most of my money goes). I've mentioned my friend Katie before, who transferred to my school this semester and has a lovely blog, The Style Duckling. Katie and I have become good friends, and we got excited when we learned that another girl on campus has a blog as well. We met up with Lexi, who blogs at Red Bows and Vintage Rose, and had a wonderful afternoon chatting about blogs and school over coffee. Naturally, we had to follow it up with taking photos, and I can't tell you how nice it is having other people here who truly understand my desire to photos of myself all the time.
It's not my favorite holiday, but I still managed to have a pretty good Halloween. My friends and I made our weekly Thursday bar trip for a quick hour after work on the actual day, and I saw all of the costumes I needed to in that time. We had a small costume party on Friday, but it was fairly uneventful. Not wanting to spend time (or effort, really) I wore a "Hello My Name Is" tag with "Life" written on it and carried a bag of lemons to be "When life gives you lemons..." Sometimes I'm clever, but I'm really just lazy.

This is such a lovely outfit! :) I really adore the print of your dress ( and the color combination is wonderful as well- blue and white look amazing together!).
ReplyDeleteI am not very keen on wearing colorful tights, but you are surely rocking these ones, I could easily change my mind after seeing your outfit! :)

One can be both clever and lazy. I think that is quite funny!
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed a perfect fall uniform and how cool you are meeting more local bloggers!

BAHAHA, when life gives you lemons. Amazing. & I love these teal tights!
ReplyDeleteI love your "fall uniform," and every time you do it wonderfully! You look comfy yet still stylish. I usually wear longer necklaces, but find they are hidden by scarves during the colder seasons. I like how you wore this shorter chained necklace - it's beauty still visible. I may just copy this :) And that costume is the BEST idea. Ever. I'm jealous I'm not as creative!
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to have a seasonal uniform! If it ain't broke, as they say! Love the print on your dress!

Love the print on this dress and those booties! They look great paired with the blue tights.
ReplyDeleteAhaha Clever and lazy often go hand in hand, I find. Nothing wrong with that! ;)
The print on that dress is really interesting and I am digging that deep scoop back!
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, that's a fantastic fall uniform! I'm so obsessed with circle scarves and just added two more to my collection. I love that accessories like scarves and tights can completely mix up an outfit!

And also, thanks for the awesome comment you left me. It's true, I really hate how demoralizing lyrics are!

To clarify that last sentence, you're approximately 97 percent lazy and 3 percent amusing. Which equals 100 percent mediocre at best. If we weren't actually friends, this comment would be 100 percent rude and uncalled for.
ReplyDeleteI love those tights - I'm such a sucker for bright colors!
ReplyDeleteLove your circle scarf. You always look so warm and cozy!
