Jeans and a t-shirt

When it comes to getting dressed in the morning, my basic rule of thumb is: if it's warm enough to wear a dress, wear one. From the moment spring hits and until the Midwest cold becomes utterly unbearable, I'm in a skirt or dress every day. Like everyone else, though, I occasionally have days where I just feel like throwing something on. In true dress-enthusiast fashion, this has become my summer "throw something on" outfit. Consider it my jeans and a t-shirt. I picked up this dress for really cheap at some random store in Balboa at the beginning of summer, and while it's a little shorter and skimpier than I usually go for, it's become the ideal piece to throw on with a lightweight sweater and some oxfords. It doesn't hurt that bright yellow is the perfect cure for my "I don't have the energy to think about what I'm wearing today" woes.

Also, how darling is this Melie Bianco bag? I scored it for $25 on Cyber Monday last year and it's such a great piece. I only wish that I could show off the polka dots on the inside to everyone who sees it. I'm considering shouting "my bag has polka dots" at random people on the street to see if anyone cares.

I know that I've been terrible about blogging this week, but I'll probably be equally as bad about it in the next 5 days or so. My boyfriend, T.J., is coming into town today for a visit and I'll probably be busy introducing him to Southern California. As if that wasn't enough, my birthday is on Tuesday. Needless to say, I'm beyond excited for the next few days. My parents have already given me $100 to Modcloth and I'm going crazy trying to figure out what to get, I just want everything. It's a real problem.

I hope everyone has as wonderful a weekend as I'm expecting to have!
