Hello from the Midwest! While these photos were obviously taken back at home in California (I've yet to brave the snow in anything other than pants and a heavy coat here), I am indeed back in Illinois. Yes, that sound of someone slipping on ice you hear is coming from me. That said, I'm happy to be back. Work is a giant mess a little hectic right now, but I enjoy being busy. Plus, my class schedule is pretty light this semester so I'm happy.
These photos are part one of a three-part installment sponsored by August Wrinkle, an adorable online boutique. Over the next couple weeks, I'll be styling three different pieces three different ways and I couldn't be more excited. I fell in love with the pieces (not to mention the prices) on August Wrinkle and this dress was one of the first ones that caught my eye. I'm crazy about the color and I love just about anything with scallops. I also thought the metal detail was a cool tough and something a little different for me.
For this look, I decided to go a little edgy, well edgy for me at least. I love the idea of having an all black foundation for an outfit with one standout pice. I will say that for someone who is lazy like me, the dress does wrinkle easily (I ironed it a couple days before wearing it), but that's never been something that bothers me too much. I'm willing to ignore that tiny detail on a dress this cool.
Look out for my two other sponsored posts coming up and, in the meantime, make sure to check out August Wrinkle! I found too many things that I want and I know all of you will as well.
Side note: these pictures look so great because my talented sister-in-law, Elyse, took them while I was home. I'm thinking of starting up a collection so I can hire her as my personal photographer.
Dress: c/o August Wrinkle
Blazer: Buffalo Exchange
Boots: Target
Necklaces: Jewelmint
While I received this dress for free, all opinions stated in this post are entirely my own. I was not asked to write any of the things said here and I am completely honest in everything I write.
I love this color on you and those boots are perfect. Also your hair has been looking beautiful lately.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the comment about being cold, I wear a coat, gloves, fleece tights, and a scarf on campus. I'm sure you know all about extreme campus layering. I definitely don't own a pair of pants.
This dress is gorgeous and I love how you accessorized it. The color is definitely a favorite of mine. I can't even imagine what it would be like going from California weather to Ohio weather, but I can assure you it only hit 45 degrees here today. I swear you're not missing much! I really look forward to our summer meetup ;)

This color looks really amazing on you, it's stunning against your hair. (Your little pendants are so pretty as well, they don't compete with the dress at all and add the perfect little something.) Brrr, I hope you're doing okay getting use to the cold again!)
