Just a quick post (writing wise) for you today since I have to get back to writing a magazine article, but I really wanted to share these photos from yesterday. I had a really good weekend filled with plenty of thrift stores both Friday and yesterday. On Friday, a couple of my friends, Jenn and Liz, and I took a day trip to a neighboring town to get Starbucks, Panera, frozen custard, and to do some shopping. I controlled myself, but I did end up with this shirt and these shoes for a total of $5. Then, yesterday I hung out with my friends Ginny and Emily to get coffee and hit up some local thrift stores. We stopped at this abandoned diner to snap pictures and it proved to be the coolest spot.
Of course, the weather can't seem to make up its mind as usual. These bare legs of mine made their first appearance in a while since we got hit with heavy rain last week. Although, heavy rain may be an understatement considering there has been flooding around here. Jenn, Liz, and I were actually planning on making a trip to St. Louis on Friday, but so many roads were closed that we decided to stay closer. At least the boil order that was put on our town was lifted yesterday! That's right, there was literally something in the water here.
Also, please help me get rid of things and shop my closet!
Did I say quick? I honestly don't know the meaning of writing short things.

You put together the sweetest outfits - and I love those flats, great find!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit! The new finds are super cute. I went for thrifting and frozen custard this week, too :). Also, have you noticed a major prevalence of shoes that style in thrift stores/goodwills? Every time I go I seem to see a pair in one color or another, but sadly none in my size yet!

that is kind of the perfect yellow color, so cute!
ReplyDeletethat skirt is actually the cutest. I swear I'm addicted to skirts that have buttons up the front - how do I own three?! and since spring has set in, I have an initiative against wearing tights...so I haven't been wearing skirts at all. this has to change!
ReplyDeleteI love your bright yellow skirt, it is so cute! I think that yellow is such a hard color to wear but you make it look so effortless, I never knew that it would go so well with grey. And ooo this old diner is such a great background for photos :) and yum! frozen custard.
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! I love that skirt! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I never realized you were close-ish to St. Louis! That's where I live! :) Maybe we'll cross paths one day!

Haha, you and me both don't know the correct definition for "short" :P But that's okay, seeing as how I love reading your writing! Great score on the thrifted finds! $5? You can't argue with that.
ReplyDeleteI love this summery yellow skirt, the color makes me happy <3

This is one of my favorites from you. That yellow skirt looks fantastic on you!! Sounds like a really fun weekend. What I wouldn't give for an abandoned diner near me! haha. The weather is craziness. It is basically blizzarding here right now with really heavy snow...seriously enough!
ReplyDeletewow just in love with your outfit! especially with that yellow skirt ;)
ReplyDeletevery nice blog by the way!

ReplyDeleteAs for Deb Shops, they contacted me and let me pick an outfit. Every time I post one they contact me and ask me to pick another. I can never say no because they have some great dresses ;)

This has GOT to be one of the coolest photo spots ever! I love that colorful door, and how you can see the "EAT" sign in the back- so cool! Nice thrifted finds as well, I'm sure that top will be in rotation! A road trip to St. Louis sounds fun! Hopefully you get to do it sometime soon before you head back to CA! I'm so looking forward to road-tripping all over the world once I get a car/out of school! Hope you're having a great week!
