Spring Has (Kind Of) Sprung

I never thought I'd see the day when I consider 50 degrees spring, but man, this week has been nice. So nice, in fact, that it's impossible to be in a bad mood. In addition to the nicer weather, this week has been pretty easy in terms of school, and work has been going smoothly. Weirdly enough, we're choosing my replacement for editor-in-chief today, which is what I'll be doing this afternoon. It's kind of surreal, actually. It feels like I was just getting a call from my old boss asking me to apply for editor-in-chief way before I ever thought I was ready. That was two years ago (it's a long story, but I had to interview for my job a year before I got to start it), and now I can practically do it in my sleep. Time flies and other cliches, right?

Moving on to fashion-related things, I can't tell you how much I love this outfit. I picked up this dress for super cheap at a Crossroads Trading Co. in L.A. over break, and it was begging to be worn on the first day of spring. Of course, I still had to pair it with tights, but I can live with that. I'm obsessed with the colors and the cut of this dress, and it fits like it was made for me. There's no better feeling than finding something cheap at a thrift or consignment store that feels brand new and fits perfectly.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. I'll be hanging out with a bunch of friends tonight (including a homemade dinner by Mary and a visit from Jenn), watching The Muppets movie tomorrow, and hopefully seeing my nieces and nephew. If it finally being spring (kind of) isn't enough cause for celebration, then I don't know what is.

  7. Aw, I know, I tested out going without tights today and realized that it was not happening. Not yet! But it's so close, it's practically teasing us, isn't it?

  9. Haha I know what you mean by kind of sprung - the weather has been in the upper 50s and 60s but it's supposed to snow Tuesday so... who knows anymore?

LOVE the dress on you - the pattern is very interesting and I really like that the colors are neutral. Can't believe you got it at a trading shop - what a bargain!

Wow, I feel like it was only yesterday when you were so excited about starting as the editor-in-chief and now here you are, picking your replacement. The year really flew by!
