Apparently, all I had to do was wait for it. That's right, just a couple days after I was dreaming of warm weather, it actually got to high 60s yesterday and felt like spring. I actually walked to work wearing tights and a coat over this, but I immediately shed them both when I got to the office. I'm a Midwesterner now; 60 degrees feels like summer, okay?
I'm not sure why it's been so long since I've worn this dress, but it's always been one of my favorites. It's starting to get slightly too small for me, but that building print is just too darling to let go of. I feel like I never really get creative with how I style it (it's pretty much just a different color cardigan each time), but I think it kind of speaks for itself. I mean, come on, is there really anything better than an outfit that has a Peter Pan collar, a cardigan, and oxfords?
Speaking of "wait for it," I'll be watching the series finale of "How I Met Your Mother" tonight. I've nothing but complain about the past couple of seasons (Monday nights are filled with snarky comments with my friends Aaron and Brittany while we watch), but even so, I'll always be attached to the show. In its early seasons, it was one of the most clever sitcoms on the air, and I suppose I'm willing to forgive its many missteps because of my love of the characters. If you've seen the past few episodes (and even some from the last seasons), you'll know that there's a good chance that the season has been building toward something pretty depressing. Well, I for one believe in that crazy fan theory.
But seriously, the mother has to be dead, right?

That dress is so cute it doesn't need much to make any outfit special. I'm glad warm weather came to you so you were able to wear it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched that series in years and now you are making me want to see it.
I'm happy to hear you finally got some spring weather! We managed the high 50s in Seattle over the weekend, so still a bit chilly. I love that dress so much- the print is darling!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see if that fan theory is true. I think it very well might be, but man, what a bummer of an ending!

Love the Peter Pan collar and OMG! I never thought about it but yea... the Mother has to be dead right? Gah! I haven't watched it in a few years so I have no clue what's going on but I adore Marhall and Lily (favorites) only because my Husbear and I are exactly like them. Ha ha! Adorable post and I'm so glad you got warmer weather!

Somehow I just knew that dress was from Modcloth. So so cute. Such a unique print too! I'm glad it's getting warmer for you there! It's fun to see all the spring dresses :)
ReplyDeleteUggghhh, I've read an article or two on the finale (although I've only watched episode one of season 9, so I'm cheating) and am SO disappointed with how they ended things! Seriously!? I'm not saying anymore because maybe someone will end up reading this...but still, very disappointed. I loved HIMYM, and I agree, it was one of the cleverest sitcoms.
ReplyDeleteAnywaaaaay, I do adore this building print dress! So cute. Enjoy the weather girl, send some our way! :)

Depressing? Wasn't this a comedy show :D I hate when they ruin a good show like that!

Love those shoes! I'm so jealous it's spring there. Still slow going here. :P
ReplyDeleteOkay, you've watched the finale by now so I'll just say that I'm not sure how to feel. Plot-wise, I don't know. But I applaud the writers. Oh, and cute shoes! I also like how your dress matches your gorgeous hair colour.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Sabrina
These colors were made for you, what a great combination! Plus, the print on the dress is just too pretty. Just a great set of photos in general, really! :D
