Okay, everyone. It has been decided. I am officially going to get serious about blogging again. I've been lazy and have been letting my schedule get in the way, but I'm done making excuses. I miss having this project as a creative outlet and, more than anything, I miss the beautiful online community of inspirational people whom I have met through doing this. ...It's going to be really embarrassing if I get busy and don't post again for another month, but hey, at least I'll have tried.
As for real life things, if you follow me on Instagram or have spoken to me at all in the last seven months, you'll know that I've had a bit of a roommate situation. Long story short: I met my roommates online, they seemed normal for a while, and they both turned out to be truly crazy. One was very aggressive and had a husband who had just gotten out of prison; the other was a real hoarder and lied about her dog being house trained. I wasn't home much and quietly kept to myself, but as luck would have it, my attempt to hide out in my room couldn't solve the fact that they hated each other. The final straw to get me to move out was when I got a text from one saying that the other accused her of threatening her with a knife and called the cops, and when I got home, there was a hole in one of their doors that had been kicked through. Meanwhile, I had been innocently out enjoying Star Wars. And the final final straw was when I came home and one had completely moved out with no notice, taking with her the Internet router, shower curtain, trash cans, water filter, and other items that I generally enjoyed. I have yet to have her answer any of my texts.
This is all a long way of saying that I moved out and am renting a room in a house with a very nice family. Early 20s life, am I right?
The one good thing about moving is that you find things that you had forgotten about. I hadn't worn this plaid dress in forever because for some reason I had been convinced that the length was awkward on me. Now that I have these badass cat eye glasses, though, I'm really trying to make more of an effort to work with the vintage and vintage-inspired pieces in my closet. This Madewell purple cardigan has been neglected for far too long as well.

Oh man, I saw your post about that - so scary! Glad you are out of there now! Also, that dress and cardigan were meant to be together!

holy cow- that is the best/worst roommate story ever. Now that you're out of that situation, can we laugh about how terrible that was?? Not yet? Ok. Roommates/living situations are one of those wonderful joys about adulthood. So glad to see you around the blogosphere again. That purple cardi is dreamyyyy!

Holy, moly, that is a crazy roommate story. I am so sorry you had to live through it (roommates in LA seem to be pretty crazy in general, from what other LA friends seem to tell me too...) So glad you have a better situation now.
ReplyDeleteThe length on this dress on you is not weird and I'm glad you're wearing it again; it is cute on you. The best part of the outfit though are the adorable glasses!
