Head to Toe Remix: Bottoms

For this week's Head to Toe Remix, my weekly remix challenge with Priya of Perfectly Priya, we're on to bottoms. I have to be honest; I'm bending the rules slightly. I'm not actually considering getting rid of this skirt, which is the whole point of these posts. However, it's a skirt that I've worn to death, and I'm starting to get bored of it. I'm sure you can all relate. Sometimes you find a piece that you love so much that you can't help but wear all of the time. After a while, though, you get tired of pairing it with everything in your closet and you consider moving on. That's where I am with this skirt. I picked it up from a thrift store a few years back, but it's originally from Forever 21, and every time I wear it, I fear that it looks cheap. Perhaps it does, but this remix was a good way to pair it with basics and remember why it's a necessity in my closet.

I did make the mistake of taking these photos when it was far too bright outside and in a hurry, so I'm not proud of them. Rather than dwell too long on my offerings, let's focus on Priya and how incredible she looks week after week. These pants are seriously made for her, and I'm incredibly envious of how she pulls them off. Be sure to check out her blog for the rest of her post!

While I've gotten a little tired of this skirt, this challenge was a helpful way to look back and see just how versatile it has been for me. This may be one of my most remixed pieces ever.

  3. Oh it's totally ok to go in this direction for the remix! I'm not planning on getting rid of my cargo pants either, I'm just always looking for new ways to wear them. You certainly have worn this skirt a bunch (and throughout all seasons!) It's such a classic looking piece. Oh, and I love the lighting in these photos! I thought that as soon as I saw them.
