Laughs and neon

I'm not entirely sure what my friends and I were talking about when taking these pictures, but I think it's safe to say I'm laughing in about 90% of them. That's right, I make blog pictures fun for everyone. Also, look forward to more pictures in this setting. I found this area at the back of the building where all of my fashion classes are and I can't get over how great it is.

This dress has only made an appearance on here once before, but I probably wear it once a week. It's definitely one of my most worn items of clothing I own. It somehow manages to be fun and interesting, but extremely comfortable at the same time. Plus, it was $6. Who would donate this to a thrift store?? Whoever it is, their loss is my gain. Side note: I think I managed to wear polka dots on accident almost every day this week on accident.

This belt, on the other hand, is a piece that I actually have only worn the one time I wore it on the blog. Neon is, understandably, not the easiest thing to work into my every day wardrobe, but I love it nonetheless. I'm not entirely sure why it took me this long to pair it with this dress, but I'm pretty happy with the results.

I wish I had something more interesting to say, but nothing very interesting has happened lately and I'm super tired. I think one of the requirements of being in college, no matter what year one is in, is not getting enough sleep. I don't even party, but I don't think I've managed to get one full night's sleep since I've gotten back. I should win award for going to all of my classes. I'll take that award in the form of A's, thank you.

If anyone has noticed, I am in the process of getting a new banner. More proof that my family is the best: my talented sister-in-law, Elyse (who also took those amazing photos of me at the beginning of summer) has also made me an adorable banner. My template is making things difficult right now, so bear with me while we try to get the sizing figured out. Sizing problems or not, it's pretty fantastic, isn't it? Edit: My brother is also awesome and fixed it! Hooray for talented and tech-savvy family members!

  1. Haha, I love how happy you are in these photos! I have some talking pictures of me and man...NOT flattering. They're hilarious to look at though.
Anyway, super cute polka dot dress! I can definitely believe you wear it at least once a week...no guarantees I'd be able to keep it to that minimum if it was in my closet ;)
Haha, and I know what you mean about trying to be interesting when writing a post. I think that's why Patrick stories/moments keep popping up in my posts. He's just been the main interest in my life lately :b

  2. I love the print of this dress, it isn't a basic polka dot because of the parts that are more condensed :D Woohoo! And the belt is the perfect finishing touch

  3. I love polka dots, too. Especially when they're on a pretty, flowy dress. Also, I love the new banner! I literally said "Ooh!" when the site loaded. Like out loud.

And yes college is 100% a time to be sleep deprived. I suppose that's what red bull, coffee and weekends are for. :)

  4. That dress is soooo cute, I love the polka dots and how you added some more color with that bright belt. And wow that dress was such a good find, I never find anything that cute when I go thrifting! haha and I totally understand, sometimes I look back at what I wear during the week and I end up wearing polka dots (or stripes) in every outfit too. But oh well, one can never have too many polka dotted clothes ;)

  6. Nothing wrong with wearing polka dots every day. I think that if I didn't consider it, I would probbaly end up wearing stripes everyday! You look really cute, and I love the pop of neon from the belt

  8. Elana, that dress is so pretty! I love the polka dots (I guess I could wear polka dots all week as well but I just don't have that many polka dot pieces in my closet... need to work that out!), no wonder you wear it often! :) I really like how you've paired it with the neon belt (hmm I don't wear neon that much either because I just don't have neon pieces on my closet but I love to see monochromatic outfits with a pop of neon colour!)! oh and those brogues (I hope that's the way you call it too) are fabulous! :)
I really like you're smiling in your photos! I think I've said this already here on your blog but some fashion bloggers always look so serious it turns out to be quite boring! I love watching people smile and I love even more these sort of candids where people get on camera accidentaly! It happens to me quite often when my sister is take photos of me, we end up laughing at something (and let me tell you, when I start laughing, I will laugh for like half an hour because I'm just too funny) and then I have plenty of photos of me laughing like crazy haha
by the way, it's great you have a new blog design, I truly understand the need to change it every now and then just for a freshier look :) oh and I do get really tired when I'm at college. I suppose it's common to all of us!
