The Mississippi

I'm pretty limited on full-body shots for this post because of the wind. It's been my worst enemy this winter in, both because of its knack for making every day much colder than it needs to be and for making outfit pictures more difficult. Despite the wind, I still love these photos and the day I had yesterday when they were taken.

Yesterday was the best day of spring break thus far, and that includes the days (like today) that I've just spent sleeping in and watching TV. Trust me, those days are pretty hard to beat. Even so, a nice trip to Quincy, a town about an hour or so away, with Jenn was just what my break needed. We actually went so I could interview a woman who graduated from my university, worked for a bank in London right after, then moved back home to open a successful boutique. I interviewed her while Jenn took photos for the story and it was really nice to visit her store. I just wish I could have afforded all of the Free People in there. The rest of the day/night really consisted of eating, which is great in my book. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but we're pretty isolated in this town. No Starbucks, not Target, no anything. So that means that trips to anywhere that include Starbucks, Panera, and Culver's are on par with an exotic vacation. We decided to explore a little as well and ended up pulling over to take pictures in front of the Mississippi River, wind and all. We also may or may not have driven over the bridge to Missouri and then immediately drove back, just like we may or may not have gone the wrong way down a one-way street. Who needs Mexico or Hawaii? Sleep and Panera are all I need for a good spring break.

Also, I think I got an internship today! Details to come!

Dress: Ruche

  7. How far down do you have to go before Panera become St Louis Bread Co?

And my sister lives in a town without a starbucks/target and it seems awful! I need that. I think living with out an Anthropologie is AWFUL.

And this dress is so cute and I WANT THOSE SHOES NOW

  10. Ugh, wind is so evil when it comes to taking pictures and wearing dresses. I wore a dress a few days ago right before the height of our wind storm and I'm pretty sure most of fairbanks saw my undergarments that day. :P Your spring break does just sound perfect, going on vacation for spring break always sounded so tiring to me. (I always just worked and then watched tons of tv. Make money and relax, that's the way to go!) Your outfit is so cute, I always end up saying that but I love your collection of pretty dresses.
And yay, how exciting about the internship! I can't wait to hear about it!

  14. So cute! I love the windy shots even if though the wind was probably annoying at the time! This mix of brown and black looks great and I love the background in these photos.
