Back to Layers

How is it that the week is not even halfway through, and I'm already exhausted? I guess it's because I've barely even allowed myself to sleep in on the weekends since I've been doing so much. This past weekend was packed, in the best way possible. I spent time with a bunch of good friends, including coffee with the gorgeous Katie, dinner with my old friends from freshman year who I haven't seen in forever, a party with my friends from the paper, and a lovely trip to Galesburg, a town about an hour away. Jenn, one of my very best friends, lives there (since she decided to graduate and leave me forever) and my friends Mary, Beth, Brittany, and I decided to visit her. We had the most wonderful day visiting antique/vintage stores, an extremely hip coffeeshop, and Target. It's amazing how living in a small town makes you appreciate simple things like Target. It's a magical place though, so you can't blame me for getting excited.

I wore this last week for class and work when my family was still in town, and my sister-in-law took these photos for me quickly before I brought them into my office to show them around. I've been looking for the perfect opportunity to dress down this necklace again, and sweater weather made it easy. I've missed layering sweaters over dresses, and I can't wait to live in outfits like this from now on (with tights included, of course). I'm still on the hunt for a good red skirt, but for now, wearing this dress as one does the trick.

Also, have you entered my giveaway to win an engraved bracelet from Tatum Bradley & Co. yet? What are you waiting for?

I hope you're all having a fantastic week. I, for one, am counting the hours until Friday when I don't have class. I might even get to fit in some time to catch up on TV. I haven't watched The Walking Dead yet, so don't spoil it for me or I might have to kill you.

Sweater: Thrifted
Dress (worn as skirt): Modcloth
Necklace: c/o Hello Cheeseburger
Oxfords: PacSun

  2. The stripes are a perfect compliment for that necklace. Also, clearly, you can sleep when you're dead. Glad you're having a good time.
