Something Creative and Witty

You know, I really wasn't expecting to like this outfit so much when I put on, but I think it's a new favorite. This dress really just never fails to be the most flattering thing I own, and I like the fact that it was the first item I was sent to review for the blog more than a year ago. For some reason though, I always forget how versatile it can be, and it wasn't until I thrifted this cardigan over the weekend that I got the inspiration. I also got some new dainty jewelry, like this necklace and scalloped ring, while in Chicago, so I think the outfit gods just had good things in store for me this week.

I'm also loving this set of photos that Mary took for me on the way home from a food run during work with our friend, Brittany. I need to stop by this abandoned diner more often because it's one of my favorite spots in town. I love having my own dslr, but I never pass up the chance to let Mary be my photographer. The perks of being friends and coworkers with a photo staff.

Things are still just as busy around here (I'm fairly certain that all of my professors are conspiring against me and decided to assign every test, quiz, and paper in the same week), but they're good. Mostly though, I'm excited for my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew to come into town tomorrow for a five-day visit. My brother who lives here had another baby (bringing me to two nieces and two nephews) in August, so my family has been making their rounds out to our tiny Illinois town. It's too bad that it took an adorable baby to get them here, but I'll take what I can get.

One of these days I'll finally getting around to catching up on ALL of the blogs I love. A girl can dream.

  8. Ah yes, its tough to keep up with blogs when you're busy! I've taken to be pretty lazy when it comes to commenting on blogs lately and end up postponing that part. Anyway, I love this pretty dress and the denim jacket <3

  9. This outfit is my new favorite too! I will never get enough of you wearing this dress, it really is perfect on you. I wish there were abandoned buildings in my town. I live in the middle of suburbia where awesome photo locations like this don't exist lol. I hope your schedule clears up a little, I totally know the feeling!

  15. I still haven't ordered from eshakti but I've drooled over a lot of their dresses and they always have the most flattering cuts. It's nice when you can find a flattering favorite to be a wardrobe staple. Savor those last school moments, even though it sometimes feels never ending! :)
