Life Snapshots June-July 2014

I'm running behind on taking outfit photos at the moment, so I figured now would be as good a time as any to do a big picture dump of what I've been up to the past month. As mentioned earlier, I went to Disneyland on my 22nd birthday last week, and it could not have been a more perfect day. It's almost difficult to explain to people what kind of role Disneyland plays on the lives of those of us from Anaheim. It's this strange mix of feeling like a second home that I've been to too many times to count, but still exciting and, dare I say, even magical every time. I haven't had an annual pass since I was a kid, but I don't remember the last time I paid to get in since I've always been fortunate to find a friend or a friend of a friend who works there to get me in, and it always feels special. This past time was one of my favorite Disney trips, actually. I went with three of my best friends, and while we made sure to go on the rides that we love (Indiana Jones and Star Tours, just to name a couple), we didn't feel the need to wait in line for too many since we've been on them all a million times. We ended up sitting in Cove Bar in California Adventure for a couple hours just drinking, eating, and people watching, and it was great. The last time I was in Disney, I was 20, and my friend Kylie just turned 21 last week, so it the first time for both of us being able to drink in the park. Considering we've known each other since we were 6 and 7 and are each other's oldest friends, I couldn't imagine drinking overly priced fruity concoctions in the theme park with anyone else.

Here's what else I've been up to, and as usual, don't forget to follow me on Instagram for more:

Disneyland and California Adventure
Ice cream with Nataly at the Packing House, fancy grilled cheese at the same place for my birthday, and birthday beers with my dad and brother at Anaheim Brewery
Rediscovering my love for smoothies from Lollicup
Corgi Beach Day in Huntington Beach with Alena and finding the best crepe place after (it's called Rocking Crepes and all of the crepes are named after bands)
Quality time with my nephew, Jackson
Shaved ice and saying goodbye to my friend Greg right before he moved to Utah
I can't get over how much I loved shooting pictures of Kelsey, and you need to check out the rest on her blog
Last, but not least, my birthday present from my parents. They gave me money, and I decided to put it toward a pair of Swedish Hasbeens, which my mom helped me decide on. I will most likely wear them with everything, but you understand.

  9. Happy belated birthday! It sounds like it was SO MUCH FUN! I haven't been to Disneyland since I was a kid so I'm pretty jealous. Also, I wish I could see more photos of Corgi Beach Day! It's probably for the best that I don't see more though- I think my heart would stop after I saw all that cuteness!

  12. I'm so glad you shared some pictures from your trip to Disney. I can kind of share in your feelings toward it, because I live near Disney World and I have been my fair share of times. I haven't gone nearly as much in the past 5 years or so, but I definitely still feel very nostalgic towards it.

  13. Happy Belated Birthday! That seems like a great birthday. The last time I went to Disney was the 5th grade so I would love to go back as an adult and experience the magic in a whole new way! Im so excited to see pictures from the Corgi beach day.

  14. Hahahahahahaha as soon as I saw the pics of Huntington Beach and then saw the crepes, the first thing I thought of was Rockin' Crepes! My boyfriend and I went with a Groupon, gosh like a year ago now, and had some pretty delicious crepes. My favorite crepe place is definitely in Belmont Store but RC was pretty good too :)
