Wedding Guest Pro

This past weekend, I attended the wedding of a family friend and wore this gorgeous vintage dress. My parents have a group of three other couples whom they've been friends with since my dad's college days, and I've known all of them and their families my entire life. One of their sons got married, and it was a really wonderful wedding. To be honest, though, I kind of had forgotten about the wedding until last week, so I wasn't really sure what I was going to wear. Luckily, I had gotten this dress from one of my favorite vintage stores in LA, Slow. Unluckily for me, I had originally bought it to wear to Dapper Day at Disneyland, but couldn't go when I got sick that week. I was pretty bummed that I had spent money on this dress, but didn't get to wear it to Dapper Day, so I was happy when I realized I could put to good use at the wedding. Of course, it would have been better if it hadn't been the one night it was cold and windy, and I had only brought a light sweater. But what can you do, right?

Things have been pretty uneventful the past couple of days, but I'm really excited about my plans tonight. I've mentioned my love for Dan Harmon (creator of "Community" and "Rick and Morty") and his podcast, Harmontown, and I also told you about going to a taping of Harmontown last month. Well, if you're familiar with Harmon at all, then you know that he got fired from "Community" for one season (unjustly). During his year away from the show, he took Harmontown on the road and filmed a documentary (also called Harmontown), which is just about to come out. Well, tonight I have tickets to a screening of the doc, which will be moderated by Harmon, Kumail Nanjiani (one of my favorite comedians and host of The X-Files Files podcast), and comedy legend Dana Carvey. Plus, the ticket says there will most likely be other special guest. Cue the freak out. I apologize for anyone who follows me on social media because my excitement level will likely be through the roof.

I swear I'm trying to get another pop culture post up (maybe tomorrow?), but for now, let me just say that I binge watched Amazon's new original show, "Transparent," It's one of the best shows I've seen in a really long time, and I can't get over the incredible cast. I need more people to watch it ASAP so I can talk about it to someone other than myself.

  6. What a pretty dress, it'd be a shame if you didnt get a chance to wear it so thank god for that wedding! I love the little bow detail! Ive been intrigued by the Amazon original shows, since the other day I realized that as a prime member I have access to their shows for free and Ive never taken advantage of it. So I went on to look at their selection and was surprised to see that they have their own shows like netflix does. Look forward to your pop culture post!

  9. The dress is beautiful! Loving the lipstick, too. You seriously have the best up-close-and-personal pop culture experiences. Lately I've just been watching super old shows like Twin Peaks and Gilmore Girls on Netflix while doing chores. Haha. I'm a lame-o.

  10. Hahaha, I feel that way about animes I watch. I try to make my friends watch them, but they don't want to, and what's the point of being obsessed with some show if you don't have anyone to discuss it with :(
Love the wedding attire here, this dress is so cheerful! ^_^

  15. This dress is a beautiful color and fit on you. I am always at a loss as to what to wear to weddings and then I see photos of wedding guests and think, "wow, you wore that to a wedding?" Which is why I want to high five you for being so classy. Also I'm dying at all your Harmon/celebrity fun. I am so jealous of you.
