Black Polka Dot Crop Top + Tan Skirt

As usual, I'm writing this late at night when I should be sleeping. By "late," I of course mean 10 p.m. because anything past 8 p.m. is late when you have to wake up at the crack of dawn. I meant to be home and in bed an hour ago, but I've still been making Jon watch through Parks and Rec with me (a requirement to date me), and we're on season 7. I should have gone home and to bed after a couple of episodes, but we hit "Leslie and Ron." That episode is too good. I had to watch it and try not to cry all over again. As one does.

In other pop culture/fashion news, this is what I wore to see Anomalisa last week. I thrifted this crop top a few months ago, and it's perfect. My only issue? Strapless bras will be the death of me. I have yet to find one that doesn't show an outline when wearing it, but I can't tell if that's an issue with the bra or if I'm wearing the wrong size. Please. Someone send help. Also in these photos is one of the best Christmas presents I've ever received: these Madewell sunglasses from my brother and sister-in-law. No one ever buys me clothes or accessories for fear that I won't like them. I also have a huge problem finding sunglasses that aren't too big on my face. Somehow, they managed to not only pick out a truly wonderful pair of sunglasses from one of my favorite brands, but they also fit perfectly. I'm in love.

And in less interesting to you/more pop culture news, I finished watching Cheers. I finally got through all 11 seasons, and I feel like a new person because it. I can now impress 40 years olds by chatting about one of the most famous '80s and '90s sitcoms. Are you proud of me? Because you should be.

Now please excuse me while I watch all of Frasier before I can return to the real world.
Top and skirt: Thrifted
Cardigan and boots: H&M
Sunglasses: Madewell, gift

  1. Hahaha! I remember Cheers from my childhood. Okay, mostly the song, and that the woman with curly hair and the main dude fought a lot and eventually ended together, but the very fact you bring this up and I remember it makes me feel both happy but also old.

And can we talk about how on-point this outfit is? Definitely a new favorite Elana outfit! The color scheme is great and the glasses are perfect!

  2. Bra outlines happen for me when I'm wearing the wrong size. Getting measured at the store helps me because sizes are so different depending on shop/brand, but also lbr--strapless bras are just particularly difficult. I feel your pain.

  4. This top is awesome! Strapless bras suck a bit nomatter what but your issue is probably a wrong size. I'd say get a smaller band size and larger cup size. Most times you have to order those online unfortunately because American stores don't understand that people can have bigger boobs and not need a huge band size. This sizing thing is helpful: http://www.brasizecalculator.tk/faq.html And I've seen a lot of British stores sell different bra sizes like LaSenza.com
    It's a struggle. Good luck!
