Gray lace and small lakes

The ratio of how many clothes I own versus how many I actually wear regularly is a little sad. I got this dress in a swap earlier this year and wore it all the time in the spring. Unfortunately, the slip shrank in the wash and I decided that it was too short to wear and shoved it back in my closet where it hung for months. Now that's cooler, I figured I would have no problem getting away with it with tights. I was right and now I don't want to hang it back up. I should probably start pulling other things out I haven't worn in awhile and see if I get the same result...

As for these photos, how picturesque is this setting? This little lake is on campus and I've been wanting to take photos here for awhile now, but finally got the chance to when Jennifer and I wandered around campus for the perfect spot after a (very short) thrifting trip. There's one thrift store in town that is impossible for me to walk out empty handed from. All of the clothes are $3 or less so I always end up with things I don't need becuase they're so cheap. I did pick up a great wine-colored cardigan I can't wait to wear. Though I'm beginning to think I need to slow down on the cardigans, it's becoming a problem.

  1. What a great dress from a swap, I love it on you. The layering is super cute! There is no such thing as too many cardigans. :)

  2. I love the grey lace, so pretty! You are definitely right, it does not look too short at all with tights! The backdrop of leaves and lake is so pretty and picturesque too! Hope you had a great weekend!

Haha, anyway, love love love that lace dress and the pretty setting for these photos. Nothing like adding tights that won't cure a short hem ;)
I'm also liking the touches of pastels with the mint blouse peeking out underneath and the lilac flats!

  13. Your lace dress is sooo pretty and I love the lilac color flats! The backgound is so nice to, it looks really peaceful :) haha I totally get what you mean about buying stuff that isn't really a need item. I always buy stuff from thrift stores or places with really good sales even though I don't need it D: But yay i'm glad you got a wine colored cardigan, it sounds pretty already!
