This shirt and dress are two more long lost items from my closet. I've been feeling a little bit uninspired lately, but since I've been trying to shop as little as possible, I'm trying to get more creative with what I do have. I've had this strapless dress for years (since at least sophomore or junior year of high school), but I don't think I'll ever get tired of it. The straight across top is pretty unflattering on me, so I love finding new ways to layer it. I actually picked up this top at H&M for $8 in the fall, but only wore it once or twice and was ready to get rid of it. Luckily, I decided to give it one more chance there's no doubt now that it's a keeper.
The rest of the semester is disappearing right before my eyes, slipping through my fingers, and I'm behind on life. The list of things I need to do, but keep putting off, is too long. So if I'm behind on responding to comments and reading my favorite blogs, you'll know why.
Also, these shoes. They're perfect.
AND Arrested Development has a premiere date. May 26! That is all.

I love the way you reinvented this dress and blouse. Being able to do that with old pieces is so wonderful!! The pattern on the dress is really great

I love those shoes so very much! Anything t-strap has a special place in my heart :) Creative layering here for sure-you look so beautiful in that dainty top! Good luck finishing up the semester :)
ReplyDeleteyay for closet archaeology!
ReplyDeleteThis is very cute! How fun to find ways to reinvent what you already own.
ReplyDeleteI would probably hang on to that blouse forever! It looks so cute and I love how you layered it on top of this printed dress. I also like your tights, I've been looking for some opaque colored tights (even though I don't need them). Sorry you've been so busy! I know the feeling.

Ah...yes, you and me both! I feel so behind in everything right now! I love this shirt and dress combo. There's just something about finding long lost pieces in your closet and restyling them again. Always give me a sense of satisfaction. You look gorgeous Elana. The little dots on your blouse are making my heart melt a bit...so sweet! Best wishes finishing off your semester :-) xoxo Marisa
ReplyDeleteI too am trying to use what I have right now...otherwise I fall into the "let's just go shopping!" trap, haha! It feels so nice to get something new, but it also feels wonderful to be resourceful and make the best of what you have- and discover old favorites! This outfit looks absolutely lovely on you Elana, what wonderful creativity you have- and you look all the better for it! Amazing look and adorable as ever :)

ReplyDeletegod, i love those shoes! t-straps are my weakness.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear you're going through an uninspired
phase. i go through that too. maybe you can do a
30x30 challenge (30 items from your closet for 30
days). i did that last year, and it not only kept
me from shopping for a month (for reals!), it forced
me to be creative with what i had. it was fun too! :)
