Is it really Monday again? As usual, the weekend flew by too fast. I wish I had some exciting Easter plans to recap, but I was stuck at work all day yesterday. Fortunately, the staff planned a potluck so we still had an Easter dinner complete with mashed potatoes and Bagel Bites. My kind of dinner if you ask me.
It's funny how much blogging affects what put on each morning. There outfits I wear when I know I'll be able to take photos during the day, ones that I wear when I know I won't be able to get pictures, and ones that I wear when there's a possibility of documenting it, but I don't for sure. I wore this yesterday and it was one of those outfits that I was hoping to get pictures in, but didn't really care if I didn't. I'm glad I did though because I love the simplicity of it. I've made no secret out of the fact that I love minimalism and a simple white dress (you can see the tiny polka dots in the detail shots) and a bright red cardigan are right up my alley.
Bear with me while I'm still trying to figure out how to use my new camera. Blurry shots may continue.
Can you believe these oxfords were only $5? After my friends' wedding shower on shower, a few of my other friends and I stopped at a nearby consignment store since one of them had a gift card. The store itself was...not really my style, but I kind of freaked out when I spotted these and realized how cheap they were.
Also, I can't explain how much I love my camera! Like I've said, I'm still trying to figure out how to use it, but I'm just so excited to have good quality photos. Plus, I'm really looking forward to having that skill once I do learn. It's so important for journalists to know how not only write stories, but how to take photos and edit video and I figured now is the right time to learn since I work with so many photographers. Plus, it definitely can't help going into fashion as well.

Love the black and white dots with the red. Those oxfords were SUCH a good find! The dress reminds me of one I have that was going around Flock Together for awhile, I actually though thats what it was at first!
ReplyDeleteHope your week is off to a good start!

Congrats on your new camera! I've had my DSLR for nearly 2 years and I still have SO much to learn about how to use it- need to get on that! Also, I love your bright red cardigan :)
ReplyDeletePolka Dots! I am a huge fan!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new camera!
Yay for your new camera! Must be so exciting! :D This is such a cute outfit too - I deifnitely have outfits like that too. I actually wear outfits to work during the week adn note if they are cute and comfy and what nto then wear them later. When I pack for vacations, I often wear versions of the outfits beforehand to test them out! I might be weird....Anyhow - those oxfords for 5 bucks?! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh CUTE! I love when I find a hidden gem like that at a thrift store. Those shoes were definitely a steal. I'm terrible, I've had my dslr for like two years and I still haven't really had time to figure out how to take better shots with it. I usually just use auto which is so lazy, I know! How exciting you get to explore yours now! Love this red color on you too-darling as always!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute look! And I'm the same way, haha...Except during the week I take a picture of every outfit in the morning, though sometimes I don't try as hard since it's only 1 photo...

You always have the cutest shoes and these are no exception. Lucky I guess that you stopped by a shop even when it wasn't your style.
ReplyDeleteYup, a simple yet perfectly put together outfit can make the best statement :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cute pairing of the polka dot dress and red shrug!
Also, yaaaay, so excited about the camera. Haha, don't worry, you'll improve. I remember getting so frustrated with my Nikon because it wouldn't focus on what I wanted it to. All I can say is, learning your aperture setting is key!

I love this simple outfit! And I know what you mean about certain outfits being caught on film. I always hate wearing something I really like and then not seeing anyone "important" that day or not having a reason to put it on my blog lol
