Easy Living

Ah, summer. Getting dresses has never been so easy. As much as I love my fall layers, I can't deny that I've been enjoying just throwing on dresses with minimal styling lately. I've referred to this dress as my no-fail dress before, and it's still true. It's always the perfect piece to grab when I'm in a hurry or I'm too lazy to think of something creative. I started working at my dad's restaurant again on the weekends, where I have to wear a T-shirt and tennis shoes, and I felt the need to change into something particularly feminine when I got home, despite the fact that I had no plans. As usual, this dress did the trick.

Although things have been fairly uneventful lately, it's been nice. I'm soaking up relaxing while I can, with a few fun things sprinkled throughout. I finished the new season of Arrested Development already, saw Star Trek with my friend Adam, welcomed home my friend Whitney who I hadn't seen in months, and even wound up seeing a really great ACDC cover band. Life is pretty good right now.

I'm back to saving money again, but hopefully I can scour some thrift stores for at least a few more easy summer dresses soon. A girl can never have enough, right?

  1. Oh, that dress is such a lovely color on you! It makes your skin tone look nice and rosy and perfect. Ugh, I hate work clothes-I always throw on dresses and such when I get home as well!
Glad you're getting to do some fun things-I really want to see Star Trek!

  6. This dress is so pretty on you! I love the color and the florals. It's also freezing and raining here, so I'm envious of your lack of layers.

Also I'm marathoning AD right now. It's so weird/interesting. Also can we talk about Portia De Rossi's face? What happened? Am I crazy or did she do something to herself?

  9. That dress is so cute, as are your shoes! (and again, you're really adorable). I definitely know what you mean about dresses - they're the greatest kind of lazy clothes. Just toss on and you automatically look fancier. It's great! I'm glad you're getting to enjoy being home.

  15. I just love summer clothes too! I would rather be in a sundress than boots any day :) I just started the last season of AD yesterday and I'm loving it! I'm also kind of sad to finish it though :(

  17. Ooooh, a good ACDA cover band? That sounds really fun! I'm happy that you're getting some time back home to enjoy yourself, it can be so strange coming back from being so busy and then it's like "uuuuh, what do I do now?" (Although I'm sure you're pretty busy and all, but those changes of pace can be weird.)

I really, really, reaaaaally love this dress. I even resorted to the usage annoying dragged out words to express how much I love this dress. The muted color, the delicate patter, so, it's just gorgeous. And now that I'm really studying it, I realize I have the SAME dress but in a gray color! (Heh, I got mine second handed as well! We're like dress soul sister or something.)

  18. Such, such, such cute shoes. And that dress is so pretty - I love the first photo with the skirt all out and shown. The color is wonderful on you - this happens to be one of those colors I'm super afraid of.

  19. Aw this is a cute little summer dress! I love to throw on dresses over the summer. They're more comfy than shorts and t-shirt most of the time. I really love your two-toned shoes here too.
