Homeward Bound

You wouldn't guess it from these Illinois pictures and my 3/4 length sleeves, but I'm back in California and man, is it hot here. Most importantly, in the day and a half since I've been home, I've gotten In N' Out, plus some things like Starbucks that aren't offered in that tiny town I go to school in. I miss that place and the people in it already, but not having Starbucks is like a death sentence to me. That's how seriously I take it.

In other news, I got a tripod and I'm planning on spending this week getting to know my camera better since I haven't really had to learn about it as much I'd like since I got it. Until then, I still have a few outfit shots that I took before back at school before I left. I'm really happy with how this striped shirt looked under my August Wrinkle dress since I had been struggling with ways to make it a little more casual. The pearl collar always seemed a little dressy to me, so I'm thrilled to find new ways to incorporate such a cute dress into my every day wardrobe better.

I'd love to say that I can finally share my internship news with everyone, but I'm still figuring it out myself. I got offered one, but I'm still interviewing with a couple of other really cool places this week. They each have their pros and cons, and I'm happy to have options, but I'm getting pretty anxious not knowing what I'm doing yet.

At least I have some time to relax finally. Here's to free time to catch up on the past few episodes of Game of Thrones and Mad Men!

Dress: c/o August Wrinkle
Top: Forever 21
Shoes: Modcloth
Belt: Thrifted

  1. My advice is to write on a piece of paper the pros and cons of every internship and then compare them all and choose whichever has the more pros :D

I love how you did your hair and that pearl, girly dress ^_^

  5. Good luck with the internships - and I'm sure you'll do one that fits you well. Interviewing and having to keep quiet is so hard - I've been interviewing (as you know) for awhile, but couldn't officially say anything on my blog until I actually resigned from my current job (coming soon). And I love this home warming outfit. So cute.

  8. I hope you pick the right internship :). Geez, I'm totally craving In N Out now! It's right down the street but this 104 degree heat barely gets me off the couch :(. Oh, and congrats on the tripod! You are going to be so happy you can now take pictures whenever you want!

  16. Good luck with all of the interviews and figuring out which one will be the right fit for you! And how nice that you're back home, man, that warm weather must feel NICE. (I can just imagine what all of that lovely sunshine and warm air must feel like, ahhhhhh....)
I have to say, I think these velvet flats are my favorite of all of your shoes, the color is so rich and it just looks so striking and vibrant with every dress you've worn them with. Ekk, they're just so pretty with the navy blue! Good luck with playing around with your camera, what sort of lens did you end up getting?
