Weather Confused

I always feel lame for talking about the weather in my posts, but it's a little difficult to talk about my outfits without doing so. This whole week has been about throwing things on at the last minute after I've spent too long dragging out getting ready while half asleep every morning. And with the weather choosing to be cool in the mornings and warm by the afternoon, it's been a week of "grab a dress, grab a cardigan and go." So while it looks like a beautiful fall around me, it actually feels like sandal weather, making 7:30 a.m. sleep-deprived Elana very weather confused when getting dressed.

This outfit is a little all over the place because of that, but I still like it. Well, I suppose I'd like any outfit that involves this yellow dress, but that's beside the point. What's really important, however, is how once again Mary takes the best photos of my outfits. She's too good at it, and it's always a nice break from work to have some fun with her.

As for everything else, I cannot wait for the weekend. Not only do I have a bunch of plans with friends (including, but not limited to: a coffee date with Katie, seeing my friend Rob who's visiting for the first time in a year, and seeing Jenn a.k.a. best friend and former outfit photographer), but I also get to sleep in. I can't even tell  you all how excited I am to sleep in. Oh, man. It's going to be great.

Next week should be an exciting week here as I have a Flock Together post, guest post, outfit photos taken by my talented sister-in-law when she visited, and there may even be a giveaway in the works. Who knows? I guess you'll just have to come back. This my way of enticing you all since I've barely had time to comment on your blogs. Please come back.

Dress: Modcloth

  2. The weather is my area was pretty confused until about two weeks ago and it made dressing for it difficult. It was close to zero in the mornings and then got up to close to 20 Celsius in the afternoon. Drove me crazy! But it looks like you've come up with a great solution.

  3. I cannot make outfit decisions first thing in the morning, so I usually check the weather and plan them the night/days before. I am the ultimate morning zombie haha.

  9. I think the weather can be such an interesting topic! I'm constantly amazed by all the idiotic things it constantly does and also an absolute failure at dressing properly for it. I'm always interested in how everyone else adapts to it's chaos. This is such an adorable fall outfit! It's so awesome how your dress matches the leaves, definitely a perfect fall color.

  10. Haha, I definitely feel you on the being excited about sleeping in. Jealous! Enjoy all those extra zzzz's ;)
And man, I wish our weather would be more compatible for skirts/dresses...it gets SO windy here during fall/winter. It sucks. It limits me to mostly pants or bodycon fits.
Anyway, love the layered look of a cardi and dress! Its a classic combo that looks so put together :)
