I'm not really sure if this outfit "works," but I was in one of those "F--- it. I'm throwing on random things and calling it fashion" moods yesterday. Okay, that's not true. It was more of a "I got a terrible night's sleep, overslept for my first class once I finally got to sleep, and woke up feeling like crap. I'm throwing on random things and calling it fashion" moods. This sweater is a great piece for those days, and even though I'm still not sold on the outfit as whole, I can't say I didn't feel comfortable. Plus, I had this necklace from Style Lately to help me feel better. I unfortunately lost one of the blocks, but I still love it. It's the perfect combination of subtleness and uniqueness.
Despite my insisting that I still put on a dress, lipstick, and take outfit photos, I'm fairly positive that I'm getting sick. I knew this was coming, but I was hoping it wouldn't be right around when I go home. As I'm sure everyone can agree, there's nothing worse than being sick on a plane. Not only is it uncomfortable in that tight space, but it's always obvious that everyone sitting around you despises you for it. I'm doing my best to just avoid getting sick altogether, but we all know there's no chance of it now. The moment I felt it just a little, all hope was lost. Prepare yourselves, people sitting near me on the plane on Saturday.
I'm sure you'll all get tired of me talking about it, but all I can think about is how excited I am to go home. I'm like this pretty much every time I'm in one place for too long (I distinctly remember talking nonstop about being excited to go back to Illinois at the end of summer), which makes me happy. I'm not one for corny things, but I can't help but feel grateful that I have so many people and things that I love in both of my homes. Again, I'm pretty sure I said this exact thing at the end of summer. Blame the people in my life for beings so awesome.

This a great thrown together look, trust me when I "throw together" an outfit it rarely looks as cute as this. Love this cardigsn!! The details on it are perfect.
ReplyDeleteTake some zzquil and sleep for like 10 hours tonight and you'll feel a billion times better! I always try to do that when I feel something coming on, it definitely helps :)

You have a lot of neat detail photographs here.
ReplyDeleteAlso this sentence )" "F--- it. I'm throwing on random things and calling it fashion" moods yesterday.") made my day. Hope you are feeling better and it is just a minor cold so you can enjoy CA friends and family!
Well for an outfit that was just thrown together, it sure came out rather chic! And I'm sorry you're feeling sick - hope you feel better soon!

I think this is super cute! I particularly love your skirt. I hope you don't get sick! I highly recommend drinking some Emergen-C, maybe guzzling some Lemon Echinecea juice (it doesn't taste very good, but it works wonders!), and getting lots of sleep.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, lady!

ReplyDeleteI don't know if you ever do Emergen-C, but I swear by it when I first think I'm getting sick. Might be worth a shot for you! Fingers crossed that you get better.

I'm always excited to head home for Thanksgiving even though my house is only about an hour from school. I have dreams about the food. I hope your trip back home goes well and that you don't actually get sick. I usually end up sick during Thanksgiving week. My body is like, oh, a break from class, time to let down my defenses! I got the flu last year even though I had the flu shot. Stupid different strains. But anyway.
ReplyDeleteYou look really cute in this thrown together outfit. Sometimes those turn out the best anyway. I really like your cardigan and the pretty color of your blue dress.
Oh, these pictures are wonderful! You look great too, I love the white and blue together and the detail on the sleeves on your sweater. Hope you beat that illness, don't forget the OJ!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are so so pretty, and I absolutely love your rings!

Your "thrown together" is cute as can be and you are officially the queen of cute, comfy sweaters. I hope you don't get full blown sick, bummer right before traveling. Being sick on the plane is the worst- I can attest to that as well. Your accessories are such fun details!
ReplyDeleteFor a thrown together look, this one is adorable. I love the cardigan, the details are so cute!

I think it totally works! I have those days all the time. Just had one today actually. I threw on a long sleeve (it was in the 60's today! Yay fall! Haha) that belonged to my mom in the 80's. It still had the tag on! Would've looked great with a skirt but that wasn't an option today because frankly, I hadn't shaved my legs. Pardon the TMI. Lol.
ReplyDeleteSo yeah. I wore the shirt with some pants and the bag I wore yesterday. Did not give it much thought. We have style blogs. We can totally get away with it. Lol.
