Well, Okay Then

I still have no idea where I'll be going after I graduate in May, but I'm starting to realize that this might very possibly be my last Midwest fall. So when the leaves started turning unbelievably beauitful shades or red, yellow, and orange, and cardigans were in full force, I couldn't help but soak it all up...for about three days. Apparently, the Midwest decided that my last Illinois fall can look pretty, but is going to feel like winter. All of a sudden, it's freezing, and my heavy jackets are still in storage at my brother's house, and I feel like I'm going to die if I don't get them soon. Okay, I'm exaggerating a little (which I know I'll regret by the time it's actually winter), but what I'm trying to say is, if it looks like I'm cold in these photos – I am. Wasn't I just sans tights just two outfit posts ago?

Weather aside, I was excited to wear this outfit yesterday. Persunmall sent me this lace dress this week, but unfortunately it fit a little smaller around my waist than I would like. Luckily, it worked perfectly under this light gray skirt, and I think I might like it even better as a top. I've been searching for more things this color, and I love the sweetheart neckline and sheer sleeves. I'm definitely going to be layering this one up all season.

Bygone

Well, I definitely stuck out like a sore thumb on campus in this one. This was my second Persunmall piece, and it's a beauty, isn't it? I'm not very good at hiding my obsession with white dresses and things with collars, so getting out of my comfort zone wasn't really an option when I saw this one on the site. I'll admit that it fits a little weird, but not enough to make me dislike it. I think I'll wear it as a top tucked into a skirt next time I wear it, which I'm pretty sure will be immediately. It should be noted that I managed to make it almost the whole day without spilling anything on it. It was a Dairy Queen run that eventually got me though.

As for real life things, I had an eventful weekend attending the wedding of two of my close friends, Steve and Liz. I know both of them from college, but weirdly enough met them separately from each other. Liz was a fashion major (who graduated last semester) and Steve is an editor at my paper. They're two of the most wonderful people I know — not to mention one of the most genuinely happiest couples I know — so I couldn't be happier for them. The wedding was lovely, and I apologize to anyone who follows me on Instagram for the overload of photos. Worth it.

Also, it goes with saying that my friend Mary took these photos, right? I don't know how I got so lucky to know such great photographers who accept payment in the form of friendship.

Prep

Now, here's a preppy outfit for you.

I'm in love with this new top I received from Persunmall, who has been wonderful to work with. I chose one dress from the site (which I'll be showing off in a couple of days), but I also wanted to choose a top that I knew I would get plenty of wear out of. With so many dresses in my closet, I often find myself limited for separates, and I'm extremely happy to have this top to turn to now. It's a good basic, but the floral detail gives it the feminine touch that I so love. Plus, it's far better than quality than I would have expected from an item so affordable. We can just all agree to ignore the obvious bra straps showing, right?

I found this skirt at a thrift store for $1 while with my friend Liz last week, and so wonderfully preppy that I almost can't stand it. Any day that I can feel like I stepped out of "Clueless" is a good day.

My new friend Katie helped take these pictures for me, and I couldn't be more excited about meeting her. Katie is a fellow fashion student who recently transferred to my school, and she has the most adorable blog. It's pretty sad, but it's actually rare to find another fashion student who not only blogs, but actually has a great sense of style. The amount of T-shirts and sweat pants that grace my classes gets a little tiring after a while. I highly suggest checking out Katie's blog, The Style Duckling, since we'll probably be helping each other out with photos often this semester. Plus, her blog is really just that great and I'm slightly (creepily) obsessed with her. This is how I make friends, guys.

Persunmall Wishlist

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8

I'm sure most of you have seen other bloggers post about Persunmall by now, so you probably understand why I jumped at the chance to work with them when they contacted me recently. With such a large selection of light button downs and sweet dresses, I could have easily included the entire store on this wishlist. Unfortunately I had to narrow it down (mostly to keep my sanity). These are the things I'm lusting after at the moment, but make sure to head over to Persunmall for plenty of other adorable options.
