Simplicity

I don't really have time to talk today as I need to leave for a work pot luck in a minute, but I had a little time to spare for a post. Here's a fairly simple outfit I wore today, and it's one of my favorites for some reason. Simple in just the right way, just the way I like it.

Keeping it simple

Keeping it cool is more like it, right?

My favorite part about not working this summer? Waking up at my leisure, making coffee, and sifting through blogs for as long as I may please, all while listening to and rediscovering my love for Carla Bruni. It's a rough life.

I'm enjoying this while I can because things are about to get a little busier. I can't even contain my excitement over the fact that my brother and his girlfriend (neither of whom I've seen since January) are coming into town this evening and tomorrow is my friend's wedding. Leisurely mornings may be harder to come by for next week or so.

For as much I love skirts and dresses, I always find it a little difficult dressing for summer when I can't layer up with cardigans or tights. I tend to gravitate toward more simple items in flattering cuts so when paired on their own, it can get a bit boring at times. I think it might have to do with being so short that I often feel like loud prints or too many different items can be overwhelming on me. I think there's some merit in minimalism and keeping it simple. I'll take classy over over-the-top any day.
