Field of Dreams

Remember all those times I said a different set of photos was my last from Illinois? That was a lie. Or maybe it was a test. You failed. Really though, I just get ahead of myself when it comes to posting. Looking at these photos though, I'm amazed I didn't post these immediately considering I fall a little more in love with them every time. If that sounds conceited, it's not. It's really just a testament to my friend Jenn, who took these and most of my shots back at school. As much as I love having a tripod now, I do miss my personal photographer. I mean, friend. The California sun is obviously getting to me.

As for the outfit, I don't think I'll ever get over how perfect this top is. I couldn't help but feel happy in the combination of it with a polka dot skirt. No accessories necessary.

I was about to say that I had a good weekend, but then I realized that I'm on summer break and every day feels like the weekend. It's all just one hazy blend of Netflix, Starbucks, and frozen yogurt. Really though, the past few days have been great and filled with catching up with friends, movies, good food, and lots of family time. Plus, I've had time to finally catch up on Mad Men, so what more could a girl ask for? Don't answer that, I already know. I plan on catching up on Game of Thrones this week, don't worry. (I like to imagine that at least a few people are on the same page as me and I'm not entirely an insane person talking to myself on the Internet.)

Speaking of TV shows, can we officially start the Arrested Development countdown? Less than a week! I really want to make a trip to Balboa for a frozen banana this week. There's always money in the banana stand.

And also on a related note (since I can only seem to talk about TV shows today), I cried at The Office finale. Despite how lackluster the past few seasons had been, I started watching the show in jr. high and it's been such a big part of my life. Whenever I used to have bad days (especially during my freshman year of college), I would always put in the first four seasons to cheer me up. So even though I'm a robot when it comes these things, The Office is now the third show that has made me cry. Fun fact: I've actually never cried in a movie. I have no soul.

  1. I haven't watched the Office finale yet! Now that I'm on summer break I need to catch up on it finally. Sounds like you're having a great time on break so far! Ah, what a nice feeling :)
I really love this top with the polka dots- you're right, it has so much fun detail that the garments speak for themselves, it's flawless! And a beautiful flowery backdrop doesn't hurt anything either ;)

  2. You've cried from tv shows but not movies? Weird, haha! I'm the opposite. Don't think I've ever cried during a tv show but movies, yes. Your life sounds amazing right now though, Netflix, starbucks and froyo? Awesome! And these photos are gorgeous Elana! You look so pretty, I love the flower field background, and who doesn't love that top?! I'm seriously still obsessed with it, you're lucky I gave it back! Haha. Speaking of which, I'm wearing another top of yours on the blog today (and I'm hosting a link-up if you wanna join!)

  4. Your outfits, man. They're always the bees knees. And have I told you this is my favorite shirt of yours EVER?! It's just the perfect yellow-mustard color. I love it. Also, this background is beeeeautiful. BEAAAUTIFUL. And you make me want to watch tv more..I've only seen a couple of episodes of The Office, and even though they have made me laugh, I can never start watching tv shows that have 39587345 seasons, ya know what I mean? Anyways, you're the cutest. Okay, bye.

Game of Thrones! I'm behind too; can't wait to be catching up this summer. Will be interested to see what they do compared to the books...

  10. I cried watching the office finale too! Living so close to Scranton...it feels like the end of an era and it's hard to believe the show has been on for as long as I've been married!

You are the queen of peter pans and polka dots and wear them better than anyone else! I love this ensemble. Nothing screams summer better...you look gorgeous!
