Park Plaid

Well, it turns out that this cute little park exists right down the street from my apartment. I've driven by it countless times, but it always looked a little unimpressive while quickly driving by. Jon and I decided to walk over there to scope it out for pictures over the weekend, and it ended up being darling. Perfect for a sweet dress and heels...okay, fine. Not perfect for heels. I only wore them because I liked how they looked with this dress, not because I wanted to take a walk over to a park in them. I'm all for being fully transparent, so I have no issue with admitting that I only wore these shoes for the photos. Can you blame me?

This dress is another Schoola find, which I'm always happy to support. I won their Instagram contest recently and got a $50 gift card. I was able to get more than a few great items, but this dress has definitely gotten the most wear. I can't get enough of this plaid or the full skirt. Not that I need another plaid dress, but who cares?

Apricity Dress + Modcloth Heels

Though things will undoubtedly take a while to feel "normal" again (and I don't think they necessarily should), it's certainly back to the grind. Work has been busy, and everything else has been great. My parents are moving back to Orange County, which means that they've been in town more often while they gear up to move. My family got together on Saturday for an afternoon of playing with my niece and nephew and eating In N' Out. I also got to see my "other" family that night, as a few of my friends got together for drinks and games. We crashed at our friends' apartment and woke up to have waffles, coffee, and a lazy Sunday. I'm a little bit in denial that the weekend is ending, but what else is new?

In terms of the outfit, this is definitely a new favorite. I wish I could live in this dress, but since I can't, I'm constantly trying to find different ways to wear it. I always kind of forget about this white tee, but I'm really happy about how it worked under the dress. I'm also a fan of this pin and these shoes,, but that's besides the point.

In all honesty, I started watching Jane the Virgin, and I'm very distracted watching it while I'm typing this. So if what I write doesn't make sense or feels like I'm not paying attention, it's because I'm not. But I feel like TV is a valid excuse.

Blue Polka Dot Collared Top + Chelsea Crew Heels

It's real cute that you guys are all talking about fall and sweaters and whatnot, but we're melting over here in Southern California. As everyone is posting on social media about fall starting, we're experiencing some of our hottest days of the year. It honestly was a little unbearable even wearing the sleeves pictured here. My apartment doesn't have air conditioning, which is the only downside and something we're willing to live with, but it's been pretty bad this week.

Even so, this shirt was worth it. It's one of my recent thrift store scores and it's easy to see why I love it. Peter pan collar and polka dots? Come on. This is my holy grail.

Other than wearing cute polka dot things, everything else is pretty much as usual over here. I've been spending time with friends and focusing on the new apartment. I know I keep talking about it, but it's still too good to be true. I'm having so much fun decorating and making it feel like home, so forgive me if I can't talk about anything else. I think it's pretty understandable.

Modcloth White Lace Dress + Chelsea Crew Heels

Okay, fine. I have yet to overcome my white dress addiction. It's fine. I'm getting through it. Rather than try to stop cold turkey, I've just embraced it and have decided that there's no such thing as too many white dresses. I'll survive. I haven't been able to buy many new clothes lately, so when my brother and his girlfriend got me a Modcloth gift card for my birthday recently, I went to town in the sale section. In addition to the gingham skirt I wore in yesterday's post, I also snagged this dress and pair of shoes. I have zero regrets because this dress is lovely and the Chelsea Crew shoes are probably the most beautiful pair I own. I have no idea how often I'll be able to find an excuse to wear them, but I'm prepared to find as many as possible.

When I'm not working, much of my life right now is spent apartment hunting. Jon and I are finally financially ready, and I'm hoping to be in a place by the beginning of next month. Not that property managers ever call me back or are helpful in any way, but I'm still optimistic. Wish me luck, because I desperately need it.
