Minty Fresh

After wearing this dress (and by that I mean my favorite dress) as a shirt last time, I decided to try it a skirt this time around. Who knows? Maybe I'll try it as a headscarf next time I wear it.

See how else I've worn this dress:

I've really been enjoying seeing different remixes through Flock Together, so I decided that I'm going to start showing how I've remixed items in some of my posts. This mostly just a way for me to convince myself that a haircut is worth the money by looking at older pictures.

As for the rest of this outfit, this sweater might be the best $5 I've ever spent. No joke, I think I wear it once a week. Whoever created cropped sweaters is my hero; I love being able to combine my love of sweaters with my love of skirts and dresses AND my love of wearing flattering clothing. I have to admit, however, that I did feel a twinge of guilt hiding the top of this dress in all its beauty, but sometimes sacrifices have to made.

On an unrelated note, I'm loving this whole not having to wear a jacket ever thing while I'm home this week. I asked my mom today if I'd be okay not wearing tights since it was 66 degrees. She didn't think it was a good idea. Californians, am I right?

Dress (worn as skirt): Modcloth
Sweater: Consignment
Shoes: Modcloth
Necklaces: Jewelmint

  1. It is fun to see all the different ways you've worn it. Never would have realized that that skirt was actually that dress!

  2. Hahaha, Californians indeed xD I moved from there 6 years ago though, so I usually say I'm still a Californian at heart since I'm a total wimp when it comes to cold weather. But I'm dealing.
Anyway, love how you've remixed this dress - dresses are just so versatile! They work as a top, skirt, an actual dress...haha, way to show off this beauty in your outfits :)

  5. I love it when I find a new use for one of my favorite pieces. And this cropped sweater / dress combo is lovely.

I'm just slightly envious of all that green grass and sunshine you're experiencing over in California! ENJOY it and go without tights if you want to. :) It was 50 degress in Minneapolis yesterday and I saw multiple people wearing shorts and a tee!

  6. I didn't even realize that it was THAT dress when I saw it in the pictures of you wearing it like a skirt. Love that dress though, great that it is so versatile! Happy Thanksgiving!

  11. This dress is gorgeous! I love the pleats and the color. And although the top part is seriously beautiful, it looks just as amazing with the sweater :) I have a super similar sweater and I wear it like once a week too! haha yeah, Californians...i was wearing like jeans, boots, jacket, chunky scarf, and two sweaters in 68 degree weather. I don't know how i will survive if I go somewhere where it's actually cold.

  12. i'm jealous of warm weather. i feel crazy that like most of my posts in december will be of my without tights (like im sure your cali ones will be when they come - i hope!) because i was in warm weather. i took photos in PA yesterday and my husband was like 'stop looking so stiff' and seriously, it's cold, i'm shivering - how am i not supposed to look stiff! anyhow - this dress is a good one and i love remixes too. they also remind me that i need a haircut as well, or that i once had hair i could braid :D

  13. Elana! Your hair is looking adorbs, and I love this combo too! The minty pleats, so fresh!

Also, I was in California for Thanksgiving, and absolutely laughed and made fun of people in my head everytime I saw girls wearing peacoats and Uggs in 60+ degree weather. Come on now girls, try being in the real cold. Like Nashville, where it is legit freezing!! Glad you had a nice time at home :) totally feel ya on the living out of a suitcase (but trying to look nice...) and going back home in three weeks! yay!
