Tired

I wore this on Wednesday for my second day of my internship (I'm only going in two days a week) and even though it's really nothing special, it's an easy summer look that's comfortable to work and drive in. I still haven't gotten to do much, as it's been a slow week there, but I still come home exhausted due to sitting it traffic for two hours both ways. I really don't have any right to complain considering it's an incredible opportunity, but man does that drive make me want to shoot someone. I felt bad that I fell asleep while watching Battlestar Galactica with my friend Adam later night, even after he had bought me an iced coffee, but for some reason that drive just wipes me out. When you factor in the 6:30 a.m. shift I worked yesterday morning at my dad's restaurant, you could say I'm just a little tired. Luckily, I've become quite the expert of doing it all with a smile on my face. Working at a restaurant for years does that to you.

Speaking of tired, I'm at that point yet again where I'm tired of most of the pieces in my wardrobe. I know that I say that a lot, but this time I'm really serious about getting rid of pieces of I don't wear very often and replacing them with more classic, long-lasting pieces. It doesn't hurt that I finally won my very giveaway — $50 to Modcloth from Illana of My Modern Vintage! Now that's one way to start reworking a wardrobe.

As for the weekend, one of my closest friends, Alena, is back in town from Utah for a few days and we're making a trip to South Coast Plaza today to drool over designer pieces we can't afford, one of our favorite pastimes. I also get to see Nataly tomorrow, which means that I'll be spending my entire weekend with wonderful, well-dressed people. What more could a girl ask for?

What do you have planned for the weekend?

  2. Arg, I hear you! I go through phases like that too when I want to purge my whole closet and start out new. But seriously, with all your darling dresses and skirts, you must have one of the prettiest wardrobes around :-)

I love this easy breezy summer look..and those shoes! Hang in there with the drive. I used to have to do that with my last job and I was exhausted by the end of the day. A stop at Starbucks on the way home always did the trick for a little pick me up though..hehe.

  9. Congrats on the giveaway win! No need to feel bad about being exhausted after a job, even if it is a fab opportunity - working hard has a way of wiping anyone out! I feel like I get tired of my wardrobe so often. I'm in such a rut right now, too! On the plus side, you look fabulous :). I adore that skirt.

  14. Oh, I love this sheer(ish) top. A little summery but still classy.

Congrats on winning a giveaway (and what a great prize to win too!!) I am excited to see your wardrobe changes; something always seems so fascinating about people's cleaning out of the wardrobe.

What do you do as you drive (ie listen to music or anything like that.) I tend to find audiobooks really help long drives. Maybe something like a new CD of music you like or an audiobook checked out from the library might help make it less painful.
