Reunited

I've made a huge mistake. At the beginning of summer, I put some of my favorite items up for swap in the Flock Together group to be borrowed by the other girls, and I don't think I realized how much I would miss them. Of course, I say this at a time when I've been hit with a lack of inspiration, so these items missing from my closet surely doesn't help. I lent this one out to Sammi, and I honestly kind of forgot about for a little while. However, when it came back to me a couple of days ago, it was like falling in love all over again. And okay, if you've seen how adorable Sammi looked in it (or how Jessica and Ashley looked in my cat dress), you know that I don't actually regret lending out these items, but I certainly am happy to be reacquainted with old pieces.

After being pretty bored the past couple of weeks, this weekend turned out to be more fun than expected. I worked a couple of early morning shifts at my restaurant job, but I also spent a good amount of time with my family, hung out with my best friends, and made a couple of new friends. I keep feeling sorry for myself for being bored or lonely at this awkward time in my life, but then I'm reminded that things really aren't bad at all. Plus, I have an endless supply of Netflix and really, what more could I ask for?

In case you're wondering, no, I don't plan on ever taking off these shoes. Tired of them yet? Me neither.

Also, I watched a ridiculous amount of "Bob's Burgers" last week and I love it. I'm not sure why it took me so long to watch it, but I'm so happy I finally did. H. Jon Benjamin is the man, and Tina is my home girl.

  1. I love this dress and sweater combo on you (: the burgundy sweater is a lovely contrast to the white dress. Also, girl, you are so good at recommending movies. I saw Guardians of the Galaxy over the weekend as per your recommendation, and I LOVED it! Seriously. SO good.

  2. I'm so sorry for keeping your lovely dress for such a long time!! I'm the worst :( I love how you styled it here - the merlot cardigan and sky blue belt are such a good (and unexpected) color combination! <3

  6. It's like getting new clothes all over again, but you've already paid for them! That must be the best feeling! I can see how you would be excited to get that dress back. It's adorable.

  8. Omg, Netflix makes/ruins my life simultaneously. I've been re-watching House, after really getting into it in late high school/early college, and it's been making me so unproductive.

I promised myself I need to be doing something else at the same time to make it worthwhile, like cutting coupons or doing laundry. Lol.

And those shoes are great. That pair was the splurge buy you got for your birthday, right?

  9. Getting items back is a fun part of swapping them for sure. You're a little more inspired.

You look great in this. Bright white is always such a pretty color on you.

  10. Super cute! I also started watching Bob's Burgers recently (ok fine, binge watched the crap out of it) and am totally in love. I feel like I might need to be Tina for Halloween this year.

Also, I'm sorry you're having some trouble getting settled into this new phase of your life. I'm sure you'll get totally up and running in no time. Transitional phases are always a bit weird, but I've managed to land on my feet every time- I'm sure you will, too! And hey, if you need a break, you can always come take a trip to Seattle!

  12. Totally loving this outfit!! The dress is so cute!

I had a lot of those same awkward feelings at the point in my life after school as well. It's just, a weird time!

Okay, I just can't get into Bob's Burgers. There's something about it that bothers me so much, and I think it's the way they talk! HA

  13. You're so cute. I just can't handle you sometimes. You look both young and mature at the same time in this outfit...maybe it's the maroon? I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy. Either way, I miss you.
