Romanticism

One of the best parts about suddenly having too much free time is that I can post more frequently. I usually stick to about two to three outfit posts a week, but I have more time to take photos and more time to write posts, so why not post most days? Plus, I'm impatient when it comes to posting photos I like. I actually still have two sets that were taken in Illinois that I really like, but I couldn't resist posting this outfit right away.

This skirt is becoming my go-to interview piece. I wore it Monday morning with a white button down, a blazer, and black flats for an internship interview, but it was sweltering that day so I couldn't wait to take off the layers. I honestly don't know how I had never worn this Modcloth dress as a top before; I love how it looks paired with this skirt. I don't know if it's the skirt or this spot in my backyard at home, but this whole look has a romantic feel to me that I just adore.

The perfect touch, of course, was my new deer ring that eFoxcity kindly sent me. As you all know by now, eFoxcity has a great selection of affordable wholesale ladies clothing, wholesale clothing from China, and even has a great selection of evening dresses 2013. I found a bunch of jewelry on their site that I loved, but the moment I laid on this one, I was smitten. I just want to wear it with everything.

As ready as I am to start an internship and get busy, I'm really enjoying having a week to relax. I know I say this every time I'm on break, but nothing compares to sleeping in, making coffee, catching up on blogs, and watching The Daily Show in the mornings. Nothing.

Dress (worn as top): Modcloth
Skirt: Thrifted (Target)
Ring: c/o eFoxcity
Shoes: Blowfish via TJ Maxx

  1. Loooove this skirt, I have one in a similar colour and am definitely going to be wearing it with stripes now. So great that you wore this dress as a top, it's always such a great way to get more out of your wardrobe

  2. Hey, I have this skirt too! : )
And you're SO right about the lazing around in the mornings thing. Taking time to make my own coffee and mess around on my computer is one of the most relaxing things ever!

  5. Oh wow, that deer ring is precious! (Heh, darn, another site for me to drool over now!)
It looks so lovely there, those flowers are really gorgeous, it must have been so nice to come home to such a beautiful area. It sounds a little bit like you figured out which internship you're planning on taking, I hope you end up really enjoying it! And a little down time is always so nice, it's good to be able to relax a little and have some fun. (Getting to play around with cameras is always so much fun.)

  6. I hope your internship search is going well! Although I must say, mornings spent sleeping in, making coffee, reading blogs, and watching The Daily Shoe do sound pretty lovely, too.

This dress/skirt combination is so pretty. I definitely agree that the whole look feels very romantic. And your backyard? So beautiful. I should probably move to California stat. :)

  10. That skirt is so adorable! I really like the dress/top you paired it with - so perfect!

I know what you mean about working, so nice to relax, but I at least am already feeling antsy - so used to working all the time! But, at least now we have time to do blog work too! That is what I dislike most about the school year.

  16. Hi Elana! It's been a while since I've visited! I've been pretty lousy about visiting other blogs lately. :(

Pale pinks and black and white stripes always look so good together, and so romantic. It's what I wore for Valentine's Day back in 2011 (yep, I still remember. I keep a log of outfits in my head). Ever since I've always associated the combination with flirtiness, romanticism, etc. Fun girly stuff. Lol.

I hope the interview went well by the way! :)
