Thrifting Again

Well, well, well. It's been a minute, hasn't it? My blogging habit has dwindled over the past year or so, but I certainly didn't mean to take a few weeks off. Work has been so crazy lately that I've been working at night often, and when I'm not, I'm usually so exhausted that I just want to watch TV and fall asleep. I'm not sure if I even want to keep posting as regularly as I used to, but I still enjoy having this blog around for whenever I do decide to make the time. Taking outfit photos is still part of regular routine, though, so you can still find those from me almost daily over on my Instagram.

For a while there, I was buying a lot of new items, and I hadn't been sharing thrifted pieces as much as I once had. I like keeping a healthy mix, but I visited my favorite thrift store last week, and got it me inspired to start getting creative with secondhand pieces again. This top is actually a dress that I found for 50% on Labor Day, and I've already worn it twice. I actually found this skirt at the same thrift store months ago, but when I tried it on, it didn't fit well. It was so cheap and cute that I decided to get it anyway and try to sell it. It hasn't sold (obviously) so I decided to give it another try yesterday, and it fit great! I'm pretty positive that I have NOT lost weight since I last tried it on so I'm not quite sure what happened that first day (maybe it was just a bloated day? I didn't try hard enough to pull it over my hips? It happens.), but either way, I'm excited to get some use out of it.

Thrfted Floral Dream Dress

I usually don't wear too many taupes and tans, but when I tried on this dress at Goodwill, I couldn't pass it up. This Saturday was my nephew's 7th birthday party (Pokemon themed, of course), and I had some time to kill after the party so I decided to stop into a Goodwill that I don't go into often on my way home. I ended up having some really great luck there in general, but this dress was by far my best find. I've definitely gained some weight recently (did I mention that I baked cupcakes on Saturday too?) so I've gone up a size, but this dress is actually the size that I've recently found myself not fitting into. So yeah, I'm really in love with this dress because not only is it adorable and flattering, but it also makes me feel good about myself because it fits. Hooray for clothes that bring good body image! P.S. this dress is actually from Lauren Conrad's line for Khol's, and this is the second time I've picked up a dress from the brand at a thrift store. Maybe I need to stop into Khol's soon?

Other than a Pokemon party and making cupcakes for no reason, Jon and I hung out with our friend Adam on Saturday night and then had a super lazy Sunday. We did some laundry and went to the grocery store, but other than that we really just lounged, watched a movie, and watched a bunch of reruns of The Office. I can't tell you how many times I've seen every episode of that show, but I'll never get tired of it.
